Deafblindness is a distinct disability.The introduction of cochlear implants has dramatically changed the outlook for children and adults with deafblindness. Deafblindness is a very hetrerogeneous group of disorders, ranging from congenital deafblindness with additional dysfunctions, to acquired restrictions of vision and hearing. These booklets give some practical ideas for supporting children who are deafblind. Many of the ideas suggested would be suitable for all children with complex needs and hearing loss.
