Steve Rose is an independent Speech and Language Therapist and Deafblind Consultant.

He was Head of Children's Specialist Services at Sense, and has worked in clinical specialist roles in Great Ormond Street Hosiptal for Children NHS Foundation Trust. 

Steve has a particular interest in the development of eating and drinking skills and early interventions for children and young people with profound and multiple disabilities, including sensory impairment and associated conditions.  This includes deafblindness.  Steve has been working with NatSIP on a framework to explore the development of bodily-tactile communication and tactile sign language.

Steve is passionate about using and developing evidence-based practices focussing on parent-child interaction, early intervention, tactile communication and communication partner competency.
