One of the aims of NatSIP is to maximise the support available for children and young people with multi-sensory impairment, and their families. As part of this work a database of qualified and trained advisors was established in 2017.
This has developed over time and now crosses all sensory impairments and includes MSI,VI and HI/deaf advisors. These advisors can provide support for families and assist professionals in achieving the best outcomes for children, and help statutory agencies meet their legal responsibilities. Advisors can help with individual assessments/reports for EHC Plans, intervenor and bespoke training, coaching and mentoring.
If you are a Local Authority, school or setting, family member or practitioner you can use the directory to find details on the skilled advisors who may be able to assist you.
Advisors are responsible for undertaking all required safeguarding checks, including (DBS) and must adhere to the relevant safeguarding practice and policies shared and required by the commissioner.
All Local Authorities offer a Sensory Impairment Support Service to schools and families. Advisors on this list do not in any way replace these local services. Information about LA SI services will be found in the LA Local Offer.
If you offer traded or independent advisor services, you can submit a listing for inclusion in the Find an Advisor Directory. Please contact Lindsey Rousseau (NatSIP facilitator) This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more information.
