Starting in 2017, Sense and NatSIP established a partnership aiming to maximise the support available for children with multi-sensory impairment. As part of this work a database of qualified and trained advisors was established. These advisors can provide support for families and assist professionals in achieving the best outcomes for children, and help statutory agencies meet their legal responsibilities. Advisors can help with individual assessments/reports for EHC plans, intervenor and bespoke MSI training, coaching and mentoring.
The Find an Advisor Directory has since been expanded to include both MSI,VI and HI advisors. The revised directory was 'launched' and demonstrated at the NatSIP working day on 5th February 2019.
If you are a Local Authority, school, family member or practitioner you can use the directory to find details on the skilled advisors who may be able to assist you
Advisors are responsible for undertaking all required safeguarding checks, including (DBS) and must adhere to the relevant safeguarding practice and policies shared by the commissioner.
Local Authorities offer a sensory Impairment support service to schools and families. Advisors on this list do not in any way replace these local services. Information about LA SI services will be found in the LA Local Offer.
If you offer traded or independent advisor services, you can submit a listing for inclusion in the Find an Advisor Directory.
